Measure Once, Cut Twice: A Story of Excitement and Impatience

Weird phenomenon…my JJ’s have been creaking for several months now like they do several times a year. I’m not one of the lucky ones that never have to grease them. So, I was going to service them here soon before I head out to Moab.

I went to Haspin Acres with my nephew yesterday for his birthday, even though it was muddy from the two weeks of rain received. I usually stay away from mud because Midwest mud is usually the cause of my JJ creaking, but I’m servicing them here soon so it didn’t matter. And, Midwest mud didn’t disappoint. It took an hour and $20 at the wash to get the mud out of every crevice on this thing. Did I mention how much I hate mud?

Well, I have no fucking idea why, but since yesterday, all of my JJ’s are dead silent.

You turned him into a Jeeper!

I know I said I didn’t want another project, but as @Irun said, it just happened. We worked out a price that made sense for me and I’m on my way home with this…

Pretty Jeep. Is this a restore to AEV status and maybe Mopar bumpers? Something along those lines? Congratulations.

I'd say I feel guilty, but that would be a lie.

Congrats on the rig. If the skidplate nutcerts are roached, I think I have 4 or 5 leftover from a BMB kit. I also have the very nice skid from my former LJR if yours has rust or battle damage.

That would be awesome, thank you. Let me know what you want for the nutserts. The skid not sure yet.

Been getting some light contact on front diff from track bar even though I thought I took enough off the track bar gusset. Removed some material from the contact area on the diff. Shouldn’t have anymore contact issues here now.

I did when I had 44’s. It’s that big ass cover I’d bet. I just ran with it. It was light, just rubbed some paint off.
