Let me provide some background info:

After running my Jeep with an electrical fan for the last 7 years, I will be installing a mechanical fan. Long story short, after doing some electrical diagnostics, it would be more trouble than it's worth to continue using the electric fan. Shocking I know. It gets power but doesn't want to stay on when the engine runs. So mechanical fan it is and I will be doing the Ford Explorer fan mod.

With the exception of the electric radiator fan, all cooling system parts are stock OEM and have been replaced almost one year to date.
When the electric fan was working, it kept the operating temps between 190-215 and have no overheating issues to report. PO installed the electric fan (don't know why), since it was working fine I had no reason to "fix it" up until now.

In order to choose the correct fan clutch I need to know which way does it spin? RockAuto lists them as "standard rotation and reverse rotation". Which one is it?

I have no OEM fan shroud to measure; what is the width of the circular part of the fan shroud? If I am not mistaking, the stock TJ fan is 17 3/4" and the Ford Explorer fan is 18". Double checking to make sure there is clearance for the 18" fan or if a custom shroud needs to be made. If it is compatible I will install an OEM shroud.

Thanks in advance!

Good decision getting rid of that electric fan, it was a big step backwards in being able to cool the engine in hot conditions. Personally I'd go with the OEM part numbers for everything.

I'd do the second deal you mentioned and you don't want the heavy duty Hayden or 2771 Rockauto suggests, you want the severe duty.
I ordered the parts, unfortunately I didn't notice your link for the severe duty and I ended up ordering the heavy duty clutch.

I went with my second option and ordered the factory parts. Fan, clutch, and fan shroud.

Thanks, I Appreciate the suggestions!

I ran one for years with no issues at all, you'll be fine. I think most people that buy Hayden run the heavy duty. It just makes a little more noise all the time.

Recently purchased a Mopar fan clutch (referenced in your Severe Duty link) from a online dealership at a reasonable price as a spare. (y)

Update.

I wired my electric fan to a switch to get it working (and drivable) until the parts arrived. I have since installed the mechanical parts in and now drive worry free about my fan giving me problems.
