Mesick, MI area wheelin

Went out with my 4x4 Club (Two Trackers) today in the Mesick area. Had a great time, and got to check out the Jeep Blessing course (which was a first, for me).

Pretty typical Michigan two tracks, lots of sand, some mud, and off camber washes. We got into one gnarly one that had us leaned over 25° according to one of our memebers who wheels a JLRU 4xe. He has one of those fancy offroad displays that tells him such information.

Pics don't do it justice, but I did take a vid while driving through it...the camera was level with my hood...Pay attention to the trees (which are supposed to be vertical, LOL)

I think someone got some pictures of me going through, but I haven't seen em yet.

After we played in the woods, we went to the blessing course, which is man-made. Its got a LOT of varied terrain, from pretty mild to "Holy Crap...I'm not doing that".

I did play a bit in the rock garden.

This is Tony's rig...He built it from two wrecked LJs and a wrecked Pontiac GTO. 40's, superduty axles, LS, etc.

And, a good buddy of mine is an XJ guy. Here he is at the bottom of the wash

I struggled mightily on this obstacle. The ledges were just the right spacing and the concrete was just slick enough that I had to try every trick in my book to get up it. Had to bump a couple spots, load the converter and hold the brakes, turn the wheels while spinning, etc. It was nuts, because I watched that cherokee with 2" lift, cut fenders, 35's and a lunch box drive upp without spinning a tire. Its fun to watch how different rigs react on different obstacles. The guy with 40s and 115" wheelbase had to take a couple runs at it too.

Been meaning to get up to that side of the state but it's far enough that it requires an overnight stay. Looks like a good time!

Its worth it. There are a ton of trails in the cadillac area.

Basically grew up there in the summers ( Tustin/Leroy area) and my wife is from Cadillac
