Yes but a 35 measuring lsss than 33-3/4?That is very normal. Part of the reason is because the actual height is usually a quarter to half less (you can find this on the spec sheet) and the fact that you have the weight of the vehicle pushing down on it causing the bottom to bulge makes it “less tall.”
I guess I have to buy 37s to get 35s?Put a level on the board or use a long level. What air pressure? Hot or cold?
Stop being a dumbass and measure it horizontally.Yes but a 35 measuring lsss than 33-3/4?
They all run true to manufacturer specifications, none of them are that size mounted on a vehicle with weight on them, that isn't how it works, at all.Nothing new. There are only few tires that run true to size.
FIFYIf you want the effective diameter, measure from a good flat paved surface to the exact center of the hub, and multiply X2 - at whatever tire pressure you normally run.
Nice! that makes my 29,s 30,s
Or just measure it horizontally.Wouldn't a more accurate method be to take the weight of the vehicle off the tire and measure the circumference with a flat tape. Then take that number and divide by PI to calculate the diameter? This would take the contact patch (flat spot) out the measurement. You probably still won't get 35" but you might get closer to it.

That's the point. But its the difference between the "diameter" and the "effective diameter" - just so we're talking oranges and oranges. The bottom sidewall is not at full unweighted height, don't measure from the ground and expect to see the tire's real diameter. Not to mention few 35" tires are actually 35".
I’m sure if I took the the weight off I could muster up 34,but I got a deal on these tires, just would like to get a more truer to size 35,but they are really great in mud.Or just measure it horizontally.
