STT Pro in 315/70/17 is $331/each.

17" wheels seem to demand a higher tire price, when i bought my wheels that was a big component of it.

yeah that sucks. When I was trying to buy KM3's but they were 2+ months backorder the shops kept telling me I could find tires if I had 17" wheels instead of 15s...which was true, but I was like ok, probably $800 for wheels, plus an extra $100 per tire? No thanks, I'll just take the Coopers.

Well, I was able to find that I can go with 315/70/17 Open Country MT's in a C2 for $331 vs the 35x12.5x17 in E2 for $360. So at least that's a small win.

My "playground" is 7-8 hours away and through heavy LA traffic. These tires (33x12.5R15) at 28-30psi are a buzzkill (i.e., active/stressful) on the return trip and driving at highway speeds 60-70mph. Might be the curved profile and less road content for a "smooth ride". No complaints off-road or at lower speed. No experience in rain, but I'll be careful.

Only 5K miles, but am reading here ... and thinking ...

What size tire? 30psi is too much even for a 32".

The tire 33x12.5R15 and is stamped 35psi. It was crazy squirrely when picked up from the dealer, but I lowered to 30-ish.

Drop your tire pressure somewhere around 25psi.

I will not be driving the Jeep everyday. So I got 5 tires for cheap. They probably will dry rot before they get bald. To each his own.

I got 5 tires for $500, my buddy hooked me up. We will see if not will run some Buckshot Mudder Bias Ply Tires. First Jeep I had was an 86 Wagon, they had CO-OP tires, they were loud and did not last long, balanced horribly but still liked them and they were cheap. I will be using my Jeep to travel on gravel roads and in the woods on a deer lease.
