Military Memes

That's almost as fucked up as the Chief announcing monday at quarters that, "Today through Friday we'll be working half days."
Then when all the bootcamps get excited, telling them that a half day is 12 hours.

Funny thing was that when I was in basic they asked who knew how to drive a stick & truck so I raised my hand....

Took me down and I got my military drivers license before I'd been in for 2 weeks. While everyone else was doing the road march to bivouac I was driving a flat bed truck. Then when everyone else was pulling guard duty I was driving the SGT of the Guard around. I actually got out of more shit because I could drive.
Pissed a lot of my fellow buddies off too.

I was one of those SGT's who you didn't want to volunteer for details when I asked but you also didn't want to be the LAST one to volunteer... I had a lot of fun making my details interesting.
But I was also one of the good Sgt's as I never asked my troops to do something I hadn't done myself before.

I was feeling a little melancholy earlier tonight. We'll blame it on my 20 year anniversary of being shot & all that shit.... Just thinking about all my buddies who aren't here anymore just got me thinking...

For all of you who have the honor of calling yourself a veteran I'm proud to call you brother.

Those late nights are hard. Lost a couple of soldiers after I got out. The creeping what ifs that like to pile up on your back.

We are here brother
