When I was in, they were still handing out APCs, left over from WWII and Korea. APC= Aspirin, phenacetin, and caffeine, aka, All Purpose Capsule. Eventually had to stop as phenacetin caused kidney failure.

I don't think I was ever given those but can remember many times being given a aspirin.
