Mirrors - replace or repair?

Hey folks. I have a set of OEM mirrors, since during the summer I use a set of rock doors. These mirrors look fine, but they no longer clamp in place, and will drift backwards at highway speeds. The secondary problem is in the winter, when I have my full doors on, the doors hit them and push them out of place.

Should I replace the entire mount, or is there a set of pads or material I can put in the clamp to get them to hold still. On the door front, should I just get a shorter thingie-that-keeps-the-door-from-slamming-open?

Clarification - the entire arm of te mirror is swinging. The swivel is fine.

Can you remove the knob that tightens the arm to the bracket, if so, can't you use a bolt and nut instead?

I have the exact same mirror setup, and a nut/bolt will make it solid. that knob won't allow you to tighten it enough.

OKAY OKAY, I USED A BOLT.

Rough crowd!

(thanks guys, the bolt worked fine, but I ned to get a galvanized one to prevent it from rusting in place. Thanks!)
