This is getting absolutely ridiculous.
I made an attempt to patch the areas of my vacuum tubing today, that I found were leaking. Spent $8 on nylon tubing, thinking that if I can fix it with that, I can just return the Mopar vacuum harness scheduled to be delivered to me this evening.
I took a quick drive to see if the problem was still there, sure enough - it was. I can still hear a sucking through a straw type noise too (I do not remeber this happening prior to the theottle bosy / IAC cleaning that i did yesterday).
Drove back home, went inside to grab my gloves, and started my Jeep again. As I'm checking the vacuum line again, I'm starting to hear a rattling noise. I can't pinpoint it exactly, but it almost sounds like it is coming from my bell housing on the right side.
The sound of the rattle is almost like dieseling - it drowns out when RPMs increase.
THEN, as I go back in the can to turn the motor off, I see a CEL. My scanner shows another P0301!
At this point, I'm not sure where I should start. I do not thing a vacuum line is going to cause the misfire. I'm not even sure if I should waste my time replacing the vacuum tubing when it arrives.
I'm just as curious about the sucking theough a straw vacuum sound as I am about the misfire and this new horrific rattle!
What do you guys think? I'm close to the point of cutting my losses and parting out this piece of shit.
