While my current radiator appears in good shape, it was installed by a garage for the PO over three years ago. It is not a MOPAR. I understand the knock-offs may have a short shorter shelf life. I priced the MOPAR on Amazon at $220.00. A MOPAR here costs $267.00, I decided to buy this here in the middle east as it would be instant gratification and I would not have to worry about shipping damage. It was sealed in the factory box and in perfect order. Also, made in America. Would that be NOS? I was expecting Mexico or China. I will install it today and note if there are any improvements in cooling. I even bought a MOPAR radiator cap. As I was not overheating, I don't expect to see any dramatic results, but it may cool better under heavy load. We are coming into the hot season so I should be prepared. I'll save the old radiator as a spare, most likely will be donated to a TJ friend in need. Most of my take-off parts do find homes with needy families. I try to pay it forward to appease the Jeep Gods, hoping for safe passage whilst I wander this realm.

When my original radiator split the top tank I replaced it with a Griffin due to being able to get my daily driver back on the road a week sooner. BIG MISTAKE. That expensive POS started leaking a few years after purchase. I picked up a MOPAR radiator and cap and put it on the shelf. I'll be swapping it in when convenient.

I don't think the Mopar radiator will improve cooling at all, but it'll last. I had to swap mine out last year and bought a Mopar unit. It'll get the job done and I hope it'll last the 14 years that the original lasted. That's all I can really ask for.

I pulled the three year old radiator today and swapped the new one in. First, the old aftermarket radiator had the inlet and outlet for the transmission cooler (mine is manual) so my new radiator is properly matched without the internal tranny cooler. Does that give me more room for coolant? Well I suppose it must just a tad. I took the Jeep out for a good run and if I had to guess, it may now run a needle's width cooler. The other thing I noticed, it was effortless to purge the air out of my system. The MOPAR must have better flow through the passages. I think where this radiator will show it's worth is when I'm thrashing in the dunes, it will probably maintain temperature better. I never had it overheat, but I'll wager it shaved 5° or 10° off of the high heat threshold. We shall soon see.

When I owned my 98 XJ 4.0L I too replaced my leaking Mopar radiator with a Griffin due to the reports of the quality and increases in cooling, but the radiator started leaking within 2.5 years. Consulted several local radiator repair shops to repair the aluminum radiator; none of them could guarantee that repairing that leak would not cause another.
A friend that raced Jeep Speed and King of the Hammers stated he had the same problems with the Griffin and resorted to putting the radiator on the shelf and purchased from another manufacturer.
