Mounting LED taillights help

Hey all - I have re-entered the Jeep world with gusto and my re-obsession is full swing. I picked up some LED tail lights with bolts that go through the body and nuts that need to be threaded inside the body.

Has anyone installed these LED style rear lights? I have gone through all the threads I could find, but no obvious answers, so any help would be appreciated.

On the left rear (passenger side in NZ, driver side US), I can reach under the bodywork to the bolts. On the right rear I am seemingly blocked by something and can’t get to the bolts. It looks like a black box with frame mounting, but can’t easily see how to get around it.

Before I pull it to bits, I would love some advice please .

Some of those lamps can be disassembled and then you can remove the studs and use them like the original lamps. Might be worth a try.

Yep
Gotta get some stainless locknuts, and stainless washers

I drilled open up my holes a wee bit to make entry easier
For the grounds, a ring terminal used on bolts against body

Drivers side you can access inside rear from fuel cap area
Pass side gotta jack it up, remove wheel, and remove inner fender mudguard or whatever its called.

Then remove a inner fender bracket to the right of the EVAP can, and you can get 3 of the 4 bolts on for tail light.

If you want the 4th one, gotta remove that EVAP can. I didnt bother, 3 bolts for a year and locked up solid, however if you have OCD ……

I used a socket on a small drill with an extension

Heres the pic of the inner passenger rear fender after removing that plastic mudguard panel

Iirc that top black plate is what I also removed to gain entry to the rear pass bolts coming in

I had the same problem and ended up using a suitable quantity of black MS Silicone on the RHS.
Still drilled (& primed) the holes nice and neat and slotted the unit on.
Dont push it on too hard, you need enough space to get a craft knife blade in there in case you ever need to get it off!
It aint going anywhere, trust me!

Dont forget to add some reflectors or your will fail your WOF, they were built into the old units in NZ models.
