Hi everyone, Im not sure if I should muffler delete my TJ (Yes Im keeping the cats). I've been wanting more sound and Im not sure if I should go with a exhaust or just get rid of that stupid muffler. Im leaning more towards just getting rid of the muffler because its a a lot cheaper.

I bought my MBRP catback and it is not loud by no means but I like the tone that it gives. If you are looking for straight sound then yes the muffler delete would work. Keep in mind the MBRP cat back is only like 250$ and is easy to put on.

I have had no muffler, bad idea, rice cans will unite and love you...I have ran the dynomax cat back kit, it is good. The best I have ever heard is a magnaflow glasspack muffler for about 30 bucks. I have one currently and it offers the right throaty sound imho

When you did this, did it throw any codes?

You won't get any codes (nor have I) if you delete the third cat underneath the transfer case skid plate.

The ones that will give you codes are if you delete the pre-cat, which are the two big cats in the downpipes.

But deleting the third cat has no effect whatsoever on check engine lights. It does make it a bit louder, but it's not obnoxious loud, it actually sounds perfect.

The kicker here is that if you live in a state with inspections or emissions, you won't pass.

Where I live we don't have inspections or emissions, so I don't have to worry about it.

Flow master super 44 muffler. Lots of sound when I want it but not annoying or rude to the neighborhood.

I have a short vid on you tube but doesn't do it justice over a video.
