My regrets

Nothing wrong with that. I did sell my old SLRs some years ago, but I've been wanting a DSLR. For that kind of money, think I need to look into it again.

If you still have glass from your old SLR, you'll probably want to stick with that brand. If not, go with whatever. I had a Minolta SLR, which became Sony DSLR, but until very recently, the Sonys all used Minolta glass dating back to 1985, and I have a couple of Minolta lenses that are tack sharp from that era. Current Sonys went to another lens mount, but you can even use the old Minolta glass with those, but it takes a very expensive adapter to do so. The earlier Sony DSLRs are generally selling for $100-$200, the one I got has an inoperative flash. For $25, I don't care - I have hotshoe flashes. I'm still wanting a full frame DSLR, but those are still selling for $1,500 or more, used. One of the new ones would be even more expensive, esp. with the addition of the lens mount adapter.

You should look up the Sonly Alpha 9 iii :) And before you pooh-pooh it for being too digital, too advanced, too smart or whatever, fully look up what it can do :)

Congrats..you were the second to last forum member without a phone/camera combo..welcome to 2006

Did everyone have these high-tech phone mounts back in 2006? Life's Good.

I would LOVE to have an Alpha 9 of any flavor - I'd get the "wide" of my wide angle lens back. They (A9s) are *VERY* pricey!

I don’t see what the big deal is. If you don’t like someone’s posts just block them or stop reading them. This Forum has become much more civil than the recent pass. There were a few times Newbs were jumped on for asking the same questions that had been asked many times in the past. Not all of us have the extensive knowledge and skills that some here take for granted. For the record I have never had much luck with doing a search here.

I have found the best way is to do a google search for whatever your TJ question is. 99.99% of the time, it will direct you to a thread here - something the onboard search engine can't do apparently.

My flip phone doesn't have Google. I have to push buttons 10 times to text and use punctuation or capital letters. :geek:
