My Transfer case shredded on my automatic 2005 LJ . Need advise

It spayed oil everywhere and sounds like a bunch of change going around in a dryer . Any suggestions? I have not had time to inspect but I am guessing the casing is severely damaged. .help ? Buy new ? Can they be rebuilt ? Should I go to a rubicon one ? Thanks, Kurt

If it came apart/exploded a common cause of that is a seized CV joint on the front driveshaft.

First order of advice is to look and see what it broke. On a f250 i had the rear tail housing of the tranny broke. The transfercase was fine. If it was the housing you might be better off finding a tranny with out exchange/and or a rebuilt one
