I'm not sure what's up with this, but it's clearly just personal preference.

We have a 2015 Subaru Outback that is fully loaded. Even with the fully powered, heated, and lumbar seats in that thing, my back kills me after a 30 minute drive in it, regardless of the seat position. My Wrangler is the exact opposite. I get in it, dive any distance, and those firm, upright, basic seats, are just the most comfortable damn seats I've ever sat in.

Of all the BMWs, Hondas, Toyotas, and numerous other vehicles I've owned, this TJ has amazingly comfortable seats. They're the only car seats I've found that don't actually hurt my back. Crazy, isn't it?

One of the only things Chrysler ever got right were seats. My TJ seats are good, but nowhere near what the heated leather seats were in my 02 Grand Cherokee. Our old Caravan also had great seats, and our Fiat Cherokee has fantastic seats.

We have 3 vehicles, a TJ, a Rodeo, and a 350Z. The Z is leather, heated. The Rodeo seats are horrible. The Z is ok, the TJ is the most comfortable of the 3. we drove to Moab and back in the TJ, and other than normal long distance driving fatigue, my back felt pretty good. Some Bartact seat covers would sweeten the deal.

We used to have a Cherokee trail hawk that was fully loaded. I don’t know who designed those seats but they deserve a raise. Most comfortable seats in a Jeep that we have ever owned. It was a 2014 model and had transmission issues. Traded it in 2 weeks before the hacker recall. Perfect timing as it would have killed our resale value. Pretty sure the dealer took a hit on it.

Love the new look of the 2019 models. Can’t decide if we want to try and give it another go or not. Just thinking of those seats though makes it really tempting lol.

My Tj seats are amazing as well. I have always been more of a fan of cloth seats over leather seats; I’m sure I’m in the minority’s there, but I like the cushion better. Leather seems to firm for me.

Nope, I much prefer cloth over leather any day!

I don't know if there is a difference in the TJ seats between the years, but I do know that there is very little difference between the TJ seats, and...are you ready for this???...my AMC Gremlin seats. It's true, and if you think about it, not that far of a stretch. AMC owned Jeep before Mother Mopar did, and American Motors was always interchanging parts between their different models due to budgetary constraints. Gremlin, Hornet, Matador and Jeep all shared the same bucket seats for a number of years...

They changed the seats in 03 I believe.

You slay me car dude! Lol!
LOL Thanks, brother. I sometimes worry that my constant car references may not sit well with some folks, being that this a Jeep TJ forum, but I just can't help myself. I am in love with the automobile. The subject dominates my thoughts. Sure makes it easy to buy gifts for me at Christmas time, though! :D

I get it brah. I've spent most of my professional career in one form of vehicle maintenance/performance or another. Parts store counterman, Truck accessories sales, Automotive paint rep, Body shop manager, Fleet management parts specialist, You get the jist. I like a good classic, but I think my jeep has given me the most pleasure in most aspects of the sport.

I knew there was a reason why I liked you! :D

Try taking your DMV driving test in your mom's 76 Ford Country Squire wagon, faux wood paneling. 460 BB. Yes, I had to parallel park that land barge.

Our Forester's seat sucks. I'm 6'2" and I sit frog legged (bent knees). The TJ's chair position is very comfortable to me too. I grew up with sports cars so my BMW Z4M Coupe was my favorite for long distances. I like the butt on the floor with legs straight feel.
