Mystery bracket

I've had my Jeep since 2007 and I have never discovered what these brackets are for. I thought, at first, for moving the side mirrors when the doors are off. Now, I'm not sure.

Help me oh wise and all-knowing Jeep masters.

Thank you, Jerry. I was thinking old school light bar, top steel frame... something else entirely. Now I just have to figure out how to remove the mirrors to move them.

Escondido! Sweet! I'm from Mira Mesa and lived up in Ramona... well, closer to Santa Ysabel. Those dirt roads are the reason my stereo is toast now. Fouled up the CD load motor. But, those were some fun roads. I'm in New Mexico now, teaching on the Rez, miss Cali so much.

You don’t need to unbolt them from the door. If they are like mine, There is a nut under the mirror arm. Unscrew that and there is a spring and washers in there too. Then can just attach to the non door bracket.
