Figured I’d do a NC trail riding thread to keep it open to those that want to post in here without starting a new one.

Here is my rig out at uwharrie, been out twice this year and will be going back next weekend. The 4Runner is my wife’s trd daily/family car. The steps rails scraped every rolling bump. The entire trail can hear my wife scream with horror due to noise. Haha

I’ve been wanting to make it up there, but haven’t had a good time to do it yet.

I have 2-1/2 inches of lift, 31” tires and full engine skid. Do you think it would make it up Dutch John or Dickey Bell without beating the crap out of it?

I don’t think it would make that first part of Daniel from the videos if seen.

That grand cherokee you see in my pics has 31’s and a small lift and he made it up the first part but then took the bypass which is still a somewhat nice climb

I’ve been wanting to go to Uwharrie for many years now and have yet to make it. Kinda sad since I’m from NC. Looks like y’all had a great time. I can see how the step hoops on your wife’s step bars would catch on everything! Is the green JK on tons?

The green JK is on tons with coil overs front and rear and 40’s. Thing was a beast! Met him that day with a group and we tackled some of the harder trails.

It's been a while since I was out at URE. I even have a annual pass this year.

I live 43 minutes up the road from there and never go. Usually too many kids.
Use to ride enduro there at least monthly, but again...kids.

We have the Fun caravan down there every fall, as well as the veterans ride, but I typically choose to ride big creek instead of the forest.

Another decent trail is near Asheville is a hurricane creek. Rode that a few times last year for a change in scenery

But it's a little more than most rigs on 33's can do. It was raining for 3 days prior to our ride at the flats, so I (wisely) chose to ride passenger with a buddy on that ride. I'll do the flats, but after at least a week of no rain. :ROFLMAO:

AND...you've also got some great trails at the BEACH out at Carova. We took the YJ to the club ride there this year, since that's the ONLY ride my little stock YJ can go on every year

But that's about all the places in NC worth wheeling. Typically we load up and head to Virginia or Tennessee for GOOD wheeling

Nice, I just recently heard about The Flats. It looks like a good time. about 3 hours for me, so it would take some planning where as its a day trip up to uwharrie an 1 1/2 hour there and 1 1/2 back. I'll go at some point. The quads/dirtbikes doesn't bother me much while I there. I just let them pass and be on my snail way. There will be a group of jeeps heading up Saturday for a ride. I'll be there, but have to do some ball join maintenance first. hopefully I can get it complete by Thursday.
