Hi there!
I am fairly new to the TJ world, having just bought myself a '98 this past August. I have been doing some saving and research, but am finding myself lost in what tires to get and if I want to lift my Jeep.
Right now I have all stock parts (wheels, shocks, springs...everything) and I would really like to get some bigger tires because the stock ones look dorky and small. I was thinking 31x10.5 and getting some nicer 15in wheels, but I am not sure if these will cause trouble with rubbing and such when I drive it having only stock parts. My jeep is my daily, and the furthest "off-road" I get is a little bit of snow in the mountains during the winter, and some well-driven beaches in the summer, nothing crazy. This is why I am not sure a lift would really do me any good or be the best option for just trying to get some bigger tires on there. I was also told that a nice alternative to a full-on lift would be some 2in spacers in the coil springs to get a little more clearance, but I am not sure if this is true or if my stock parts could handle it. Also, is there any benefit or downfall to getting bigger wheels? I am honestly extremely uneducated when it comes to cars, and especially when it comes to the Jeep world, which is why I came here to learn and become a better and more involved member of the community, so take it easy on me lol. Anything you have to offer will help!
