Removing the transfercase drop spacers will not cause a problem with fan blade to shroud clearance.

Not saying it would hit, just to look to see what clearance he had. Since he bought the jeep after someone else had done some mods, you never know what they have done prior.
The fan will move down slightly after lifting the transfer case from removing spacers.

Realistically the clearance should be fine, but you are correct in that you never know what mods the PO has done.
When the skid plate spacers are removed and the skid plate is returned to its original mounting someone should be watching the fan blade clearance just to make sure.
