Just purchased this 2005 Wrangler X with 145k miles, 4” lift and 35’s. First on the list is to ditch the 35’s for some 33’s. Soon to sell the wheels (not a big fan on them but the wife likes them). Frame is in great condition. Paint has a couple small pin stripes but it’s a jeep. Needs a vc gasket, passenger soft top window has a hole and some paint on the flares.

Welcome from Washington! That's a good looking Jeep. Sounds like you have a good direction too. This forum is a wealth of knowledge.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase.

I commend you for ditching the 35s for 33s. That's a very good plan. TO run 35s right is very expensive, and it's absolutely unnecessary unless you're determined to take on some very, very challenging rock crawling.

That iswhat I’ve found in just about every article or post I’ve came across. Which I do not plan to go that route. The main focus is a winter vehicle for my wife to preserve the “niceness” of her daily (2017 camaro 2ss) and for some moderate trails and some camping along the way. Nothing too crazy.

Welcome from Northern California. Nice looking TJ. I will say it too....good idea for ditching the 35s for 33s for the kind of wheeling you want to do. And yes, you do need to get some paint on those flares. Thanks for the pictures..... we like pictures. :)

Nice! I used to have a 5th Gen Camaro SS myself.

Going to 33s is much smarter especially for your wife. It can be done right for cheaper and will generally have better road manners as well. Hell, if I had to do it over again I wouldn’t go over 31s myself.
