New led headlights, High beams won't turn off

Hi! I’m new to the jeep world. Bought a 2004 Rubicon and am trying some relatively inexpensive upgrades, starting with new LED headlights. Amazon recommended the “Nuvision NVL-HL-001H” 7 inch Halo lights. Prior to doing any wiring for the DRL or blinker, it’s a simple plug in.
Upon plugging in the new lights, the high beams come on automatically when the lights are off and when it’s in DRL mode. When the headlights are turned on, the regular lights work fine. When I turn on the high beams, works normal.

Lights off - high beams
DRL - high beams
Headlights on - works normal
High beams on - works normal.

Any ideas on what wrong or how I can fix this?

Welcome.
First, I'm not a fan of LED headlights or Halos, but I'll try to help anyway. :cautious:

I've seen reviews that said some of the cheap (chinese) lights (or the adapters) come with the wires pinned wrong.
Have you plugged the originals back in to make sure nothing's wrong with the switch?

Hi thanks for the reply. I haven’t tried that yet. I just put the new LED’s in this morning, I will try that, though the old ones were working normally yesterday.

If you can't tell which order the wires are in, you'll have to use a meter.

Use your factory headlight connector as your example to determine which terminal is for what function.
Chinese electrical wiring has been know to be wired wrong and electronic components not function properly.

Don't the DRLs use the high beam circuit, just at a lower voltage? That lower voltage may still be enough to light the LEDs up enough to be bright.

So you only have the 3 wires plugged in and the lights are still coming on even when not turned on? You didn't do any of the wiring for the DRL?

Edit: as @Artsifrtsi said, since the Jeep is in Canada, it has factory DRL which is low voltage powering the high beam circuit. That would be why your lights turn on like that.

Legally, in Canada, you have to have DRL, so you can either disable the factory circuit, and go all in on those headlights and wire up their DRL function, or you can go back to stock and let it work as factory.
