New to 4WD, USA and Wranglers

If my 5sp on 33s with a 3.73 could ever make it to 85 I'd be just fine here in Utah as far as the cops go, but my Jeep is more of a backroads cat.

Rust, rust, rust, as others have already mentioned should be your primary concern especially if you're looking in the local market there in the Northeast where you mentioned moving. Focus on the integrity of the frame & less on the bells & whistles when it comes to shopping for a nearly 20 year old TJ.

Great thank you I will look into it. I am searching these things but I read somewhere a 15hp gain for those combined that’s why I mentioned that. Again sorry to be a newbie.

No worries. You definitely won’t gain 15 HP with those mods. Maybe 3-5 HP, but that isn’t measurable, as it amounts to nothing more than variables with the dyno and conditions.

There are a lot of great info threads to be had on this forum. I'll start you off with a few to try and answer some of your questions.

This one talks about the changes thru the years.

Since you are not planning on doing a large lift and other modifications to your Jeep (At least until the BUG BITES) I'd look for a Sahara of Rubicon model as they were the 2 top of the line models.

Someone tell me where you can go 85 MPH without getting arrested on the spot?

Massachusetts, actually! I've gone 90 by cops before and been fine (speed limits of 55/60). As long as you're not out of control, there's a few easy speeding spots. You just gotta know where the cops pull you over and where they don't care, ha!
