The topic of modifications is discussed frequently here for people new to Jeeps. This makes me wonder, what does a good bolt on suspension system look like for the TJ/LJ? That said, if you were putting together your own high performing short arm suspension, with 3 - 4 inch lift, what would that look like and why those parts? Assume 33" tires, with the ability to move up to 35s, and a tummy tuck.

Ignore the obvious body interference issues/limitations, brakes and other related items. These can be part of another topic. For this exercise, the intent of the discussion is to help put together a cook book of sorts for a suspension that works well with itself and the TJ/LJ platform.

I've taken a shot at putting together the list of functional ingredients, which can be added to, if needed. Please be as specific as possible with part numbers and names. For example:

Springs: Currie: 9131RH2P = TJ 4″ and 9131RH3P = LJ 4″

Control Arms: CE-9100SA – SAVVY TJ/LJ Johnny Joint® Aluminum Double Adjustable Control Arms

Lastly, if you feel there are pre-packedged systems, those can be named also. With the general guidelines identified, ready, set, go!

Bump Stops
Control Arms
Track Bars (Front and Rear)
Shocks
Sway Bars (Front and Rear)
Steering
Body Lift
Motor Mount Lift
Cable Shifter
