So last night on my way home, I had the CEL pop up. I had the codes read and it pulled up a P0340 (camshaft position sensor A circuit) and P1391 (intermittent loss of camshaft position sensor or crankshaft position senser). The first start up after cutting it off took a few seconds and it did start once after that but this morning, no start. I did some research and discovered via other forums that many have had the same issue and it was a bad CMP. I decided however to just replace the whole distributor while I was at it. I finished that job but now it won't start and there is no spark from the coil. I have heard that the PCM needs good reads from all the sensors in order to trigger the coil so obviously I am now wondering if I installed the distributor incorrectly (I put #1 cyl at TDC before swapping out distributor and installing the new one in the exact same position as recommened). I also replaced the CKP last year so it was not my first suspicion (obviously not out of the question though). I plan to test the power to the coil tomorrow but what else should I be looking for? Also, could someone help me with the procedure for testing the coil? I've always figured a no spark situation could only be so many things. Any assistance is appreciated.
