California NorCal Jeep adventures!

Never been on that trail but looks fairly easy

Thanks. I think the reason I couldn’t find a lot they recently changed the official name from squaw for being offensive. It also goes by mud trail and Carson ridge trail. I’ve watched a few videos and looks like it has some interesting portions of rock crawling but nothing major. Probably a good trail for the girl and boy to learn some stuff on.

I know some of you are getting ready for the Rubicon run, hope you all have fun. Reading the post making me want to join.

But we ran the Hungalelti Trail Saturday. Overall I thought it was a great trail, mostly dirt and small rock sections, but did have a few rock areas which required some spotting. For real experienced drivers spotters probably wouldn’t be necessary. Had some fantastic views. I could post more pictures, but the poor LJ got left home and the three JKU’s went so those pictures have show the JK’s in them. It was a full day.

Stopped and had burgers on the way home, my son had the 4 pattie burger.

Looks like a good time! @Donarch Burgers looking good too!

I just got my jeep going again, after working on it for the past year. Dana 44 axle swaps , 35’s and lift. I’m hoping to find some people to do an easy day trip with soon . I need to get some miles on this thing and work out the bugs. Anyone close to the Woodland area ? Maybe we can go to stonyford ? Or something easy in lake county ? I’m newer to this area and looking to make new jeep friends.

I'm in Lake County. We could run some trails in Mendo National, maybe the M5 to the M10, easy shake down stuff.

I’m down to make a run. I’m in the Vacaville area mostly and head to the Knoxville/stoneyford area regularly. I’d like to see more of the lake county area too. I could use some more GMRS lessons from Jim too 🤣

That sounds good to me ! I’m available every weekend. I’m trying to find those roads on OnX but having a hard time … is there another identifier I could use to try and locate those on a map a little easier ? I’m trying to see how far that is from me but I’m thinking it’s about an hour or two.

Let’s set something up between the 3 of us. I am available any weekend this month. It would be nice to do an early morning thing to beat the heat

I’m busy building my shop every weekend but have no problem dropping everything for a trail run and my rig is ready. Name a date and place and I’ll be there. Morning definitely sounds best.

@bobthetj03 you are the area expert, get us a location and maybe we can get something put together for this weekend? Saturday morning early-ish. 7 or 8am meet time ? Sounds like we got about 4 people interested right now . Could just be a quick little morning trip, couple hours before the heat of the day. Light wheeling- shake down sort of stuff.

I'll have to check to see what I have going on. Might not be able to go this weekend, but likely could the following weekend.

They look delicious!! 😋

Just checking of anyone is doing the Rubicon Trail. Jeep Jamboree on Aug 2 -4.

I know it's expensive but I am going to be taking my sons YJ along with my TJ and my buddy who also has a TJ. We have done this trip in the past but not for several years. Since I lost my son last year I have not done much jeeping. I thought this would be fun and a memorial run, my two nephews will be driving my sons YJ and since they don't have a lot of experience I thought this would be a good run as they have spotters everywhere. Also I don't need to bring along all of the cooking equipment and food.

Let me know if anyone is going,

Also anyplace I can park 3 vehicles and one trailer near Auburn ? Also is it legal to spread ashes on the trail ?

I wish I could do the Rubicon Run that’s going on July 26th ~ 29th

I wouldn’t be caught with a Jeep jamboree if my life depended on it.

Don’t like crowds.

Check the state entities website that is responsible for the rubicon for their guidlines about ashes.Or maybe call. They probably won't want them right on the trail and might want a permit or something.

Cool idea. I want to be cremated and have my ashes spread somewhere i loved.

Yea part will be at Pebble Beach one of his favorite places to play golf, and Maui.

Doesn’t seem like anything will be happening this weekend…can we try to pick another date for the Mendocino National Forrest day trip. Maybe for next weekend Saturday the 27th?
