X2, I use Fram too... the Tough Guard which is an excellent oil filter. The internet rumors about Fram are complete bullshit. I actually switched from AC-Delco and Purolator oil filters to the Fram Tough Guard after spending two days in a lab that tested oil filters and saw how well the Frams did in comparison tests to pretty much every other brand.

I used to believe that. Here's a .jpg in my collection of photos whose name I kept unmodified as a reminder of what I used to actually believe until I learned better. I actually believed (wrongly) then it had cardboard inside. POS = piece of shit.

Not needed by ANY means but also doesn’t hurt and is the EXACT same price for me.
