Was chasing a new oil leak that went from a drip to a 1/4 quart each drive and found that all oil pan bolts were extremely loose. Is this normal on TJ, something I need to keep a eye on or did previous owner not torque down properly. There's evidence gasket had been replaced.

Not normal. NVH isn't a huge issue with 4.0s. Guess is previous owner didn't get them tight enough. Not sure of the specification but I'd shoot for 8-10 ft. Lb.
Monitor after that then maybe some blue loctite after cleaning oil from bolts.

Be careful with the bolts on the leading flange of the oil pan, they are not threaded into the block but rather the timing cover which is a cast aluminum.

My Jeep started leaking and I figured it was the dreaded rear main seal. I crawlwsd under to verify and clean and found loose oil pan bolts. So far as I know, my oil pan has never been off.

Thanks for the help. If tightening doesn’t fix problem , and I need to replace oil pan gasket I will probably replace rear main seal while pan is off if necessary. What brand gaskets do y’all recommend?
