SOOOOO. I hate my stock bumper. I think its the worst invention since chocolate covered pretzels and lymes disease. Im not a fan. I want to upgrade but all the bumper I like are over $500 and STILL need to be painted/coated. I was thinking about cutting my stock bumper right beyond those ugly stock rubber bumpers on the front and make it a stubby, put a winch plate on the factory frame, and then put on the Olympic stinger (seen here: http://www.quadratec.com/products/12006_900X_PG.htm?gclid=CJWi2L6l3tECFQEpaQodXysCug). This is NOT meant for the stock bumper but will fit because it uses the upper and lower bolt holes for the tow points. This DOES however leave a 3/4" gap in the front between the front of the bumper and the front section of the C that touches 3 of the 4 sides of the factory bumper. I am thinking of a solution to keep tow points in the front if I do this and how to put something to fill that 3/4 gap because a decent hit would bend that in easily. UGH why does no one make a coated and good looking stubby bumper and a bull guard/stinger for our tjs.. I also have 2 offroad lights on the front of my bumper I want to keep/transfer if needed.

How would you address those problems? Would you say its not worth it?

How does $200 for an American made bumper sound? And he'll make it short like a stubby if you want. http://www.thedirtworx.com/_p/prd13/1638357845/product/front-bumper

You'll have to paint it but that'll cost you all of $15 for cans of Rustoleum self-etching primer and Rustoleum satin black. Or Krylon instead of Rustoleum if you like.

I've had two of Robert's rear bumpers on my two TJs, the quality and beefiness are impressive. Not to mention US made right here in SOCAL, about 50 miles from my house. I picked my first one up at his shop, he has an impressive operation going out in his garage-turned manufacturing shop.
