Only in SoCal, only on a Jeep page

Nice!

Everyone always says let the pros do gears, but the only way you learn is by doing. If we listened to everyone who ever said "leave it to the professionals", we would barely be able to pump our own gas.

I learned a while back from a hot rod shop I volunteered at. If you have the tools it’s not hard. Just takes a bit of time. I don’t have the tools anymore or shop contact (they closed).

I’d gladly pay $950. That is a great deal.

Do you care to share the mechanic's contact info or the SoCal forum where he can be reached for gear work? Thx.

There are reasonably priced shops out there. I paid $250 per axle, and I provided the parts. The guy I used has done dozens of regears.

I don't know how long it took him, but I know when I do things more than once, it gets quicker everytime.
