Options for those who want overdrive on their TJ (42RLE vs AW4 vs ?)

His previous BMW was a 05 335x with an auto trans that was signing off. I love the concept of BMW , but I'm not sure I would be happy with the reality.

The twin turbo inline-six engines are capable of big power, but a nightmare to maintain. My favorite combo was actually the N52 N/A inline six (328i) with the 6 speed manual. Quite reliable, easy to maintain, and nice to drive. My last one had over 200k when I sold it and I could get 29mpg highway with it at 80mph.

The Turbolamik kit is a little more spendy than the SoundGerman but it also allows you a lot more options.

It's cool that someone builds a wild TCU like this . Hopefully the Transmission would hold up to the challenge long term. When I think hotrod automatic , I think Turbo - 400 with a manual valve body. :ROFLMAO:

There's a LOT you can do with that TCU from them. A lot that I'm not sure a TJ needs but the guys with a drift car or other needs is different.

This transmission seems to be taking some abuse so far but then I've also read about some problems cropping up too.
