Original Jeep decal / badge?

I keep thinking I've seen this on an old jeep or maybe an old jeep commercial, idk it just looks familiar.

Was this symbol a part of the jeep badging on old jeeps at one time?

This decal was a freebie tossed in the box with some other Jeep stuff I got in the mail.

The original Willys CJ’s came with something similar to that painted on the tailgate.

You see these on several "special edition" jeeps. I'm trying to remember which ones I've seen them on. Maybe the Islander among others.

Yikes, well it came in a box of jeep stuff. I wasn't going to use it except on the wall in.the shop

I've always loved that logo when I am checking out the old Jeeps at events. One day while surfing Amazon, I came across these stickers, so I snagged one. I like it.
