Jeep threw a p501 code this morning. I checked the connection at the transfer case, it looked good, I pulled the speedo gear, and checked that it was indexed correctly, the gear looked to be in good shape. Speedo isn't working at the dash. Any ideas on what to look for next?

Upon further inspection and comparing to mi old gear it looks like my current 40 tooth gear is worn down to the point it isn't making contact anymore. Guess it needs replaced.
