"Pacing myself" build

Test fitting successful. Thankfully, the T45's gave little drama coming off.

I'll probably paint the brackets with some Satin black and work on wiring them up.

Didn't want to cut up a perfectly good cargo rack, but it was not going to work with the pup getting so big, so I cut it up.

Paint will dry for the weekend, then I'll use some 3" flat bar for the braces and bolt them to the tub under my fridge slider.

I'll post the finished product when I get there.

As some might already know, I have developed an interest in Ham radio, specifically with portable operations. For gear, I was lacking shade when working a Summits on the Air activation, or a Parks on the Air. I decided to try this product out. It needed to be compact when stowed and give me some head room.

The canopy comes with bags you fill with sand and attach to the bottom of the poles, or you can stake them down to keep it from turning into a kite.
Setup was no worse than setting up a small tent. I can use this canopy on the TJ or my wife's Compass.

Yes I’ve bought one of these… they are quite handy and fold down very small…
Mine was like the kite you mentioned though… I’m sure people passing by thought it was funny to watch a short guy trying to set things up on a windy day. 😂
