I have a 2006 TJ (hard top) which I bought new … I was fortunate to never have leaks until I had some body work done by a local shop last year (rust repair, paint … not collision-related). I solved a number of leaks after I realized that, when they re-installed the door seals (originals, in excellent condition), they didn’t replace the plastic fasteners that hold the seals in place … naturally, the originals broke upon removal, so the broken fasteners didn’t hold the seals tight against the doors. I ordered new fasteners and replaced the broken ones (i.e. all of them), and that stopped all but one leak that I haven’t been able to figure out. With the vehicle stationary, water enters in the area around the lower front corner of the passenger’s door (see pic) … please excuse the clutter … I use the post-it notes to try to pinpoint the water entry point, and the Shamwow to absorb it. RE the post-its, you may be able to see that the second from the right is soaked, the one on the right is slightly wet, and the others are dry. Oddly, the leak consistently occurs when I’m parked on a flat surface, but not when on an incline (with the front end higher), and not when driving (even in torrential rain). Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated … thank you!
