Passenger floor pan repair advice please

Pulled the carpet and found a slight issue with the passenger side floor pan:

I'm planning on grinding/sanding off the rust, hitting the area with a rust-encapsulating primer, and gluing down an Amazon repair plate using body panel adhesive. Last is painting with some Forest Green I have in rattle cans.

I'd like to get recommendations for the adhesive, since I've never used it before. And, am I missing anything else?

The correct way would be to cut out all of the rust and replace with a new floor pan

Not really. I have a cheapo HF welder and I've been playing/practicing with it, but not to the point I'm comfortable butt-joining a piece that size. Plus, I figure if the car manufacturers are using adhesive these days for body panels, it must be OK for an application like this.

You are ok with doing the worst repair possible then? The glue is used when bonding 2 panels together that are clean and rust free. You would be better off just riveting a piece of stop sign and gooping seam sealer on the top and bottom.

You probably won't get any help here for sloppy ineffective repairs. Most people here want to do it right the first time. There may be a discussion on exactly what the right repair is though. Rust is like a cancer. Get rid of it or it will continue to grow.
