Pentastar V6 in a TJ

Pentastar V6 . . . Has anyone done this re-power to a TJ?
Wondering the pro's & con's of a transplant into a 5sp. TJ.
Keep your TJ 'all Jeep' . . .
Thoughts . . .

I'd ask WHY???? For the amount of work you coulda had a V-8....

In all seriousness are you talking about the 3.6?

Who rev's their engine to 6,400 RPM's on a normal basis? And the torque peak is way higher than most would rev to also.

6 cylinders I'd use instead of that minivan motor:

Stroker 4.0
The GM inline 6 for the trailblazer
Toyota 2GR (this one's also a minivan motor but a way better one)

I've had the Pentastar V6 in a JLU and JT. I think they're pretty good engines but don't think I would put one in a TJ.

If I had a notion to do something it would probably be a 4.6L stoker. Maybe with the Edelbrock head to save some weight.

My 4.6l is a blast.the aluminum head almost makes it like the the winch isn't on there.

Starting with a gutted tj or 4cyl,I would be very tempted to do a GM 4.2l/4l60e with a low boost turbo. 100+ hp more than I have now and probably better mileage.

Though honestly I'd rather use a sprintervan 2.7l/nag1 diesel combo. I know of several near me with over 300k miles going strong and getting 20mpgs
