Whats everyone doing for a phone mount? Everyone I've tried has failed miserably as soon as you get on any kind of dirt road.

And I live on a dirt road lol.

I keep my phone in my pocket and fondly recall the days when one could leave the house without an electronic leash.

But seriously, an excellent mount that isn't often mentioned on the jeep forums comes from PanaVise. At first I thought PanaVise brackets were pricey for what they were, but after purchasing one to mount my inReach I have changed my opinion - my PanaVise bracket was well worth the $32.95 price of admission for a no-drill, vibration free powder coated 18 ga. steel bracket that does not interfere with airbags or any controls and that can be installed in less than 15 minutes.

PanaVise brackets are drilled with a universal AMPS pattern and are designed to mount phones, GPS units, ham radios, etc. Made in Reno, Nevada, U.S.A.

Rugged ridge and some torros wireless mount from amazon. Wireless function does not work worth a shit, but it has been a solid phone mount that has handled my Note without issues.

I got this phone holder off amazon that mounts to the handle. Its pretty solid and holds the phone well (until you're off pavement). It says it doubles as a cupholder but I wouldn't trust it for that.

I have the one that clips into the vent for my truck and I hate it. It falls off all the time. I don't like the windshield mounts, or the stick on dash ones. This bolt on one seems t be the best setup I have encountered.

I've been running this Mob Armor mount. Sturdy, doesn't drop the phone, even on really rough trails. It's spendy, but well worth it in my opinion.

If you look at the far right you can see my old Ram Roll Bar Mount, it comes complete with a piece of rubber and a hose clamp. That 's why I switched I wanted something a little cleaner looking

Rugged Ridge and a Vanmass wireless charger mount. Phone stays put even on kidney bruising washboard. No complaints.

I was all-in but they don't make one for the 03-06 year with a manual. Didn't you design a phone mount as well?

It will fit your dash, but is a very tight fit with the shifter in 5th gear. Some say it still works fine, but Panavise won't label it as appropriate for 03-06 Wranglers with manual transmissions. From the manufacturer's point of view it is definitely the correct and most ethical business decision. You might be able to make one work but more investigation would be in order.

I did make a no-drill dash top mount for my Garmin GPS that uses the existing retaining screws for the center bezel. Mine employs a 17mm ball compatible with Garmin mounts, but it could easily be swapped for a 1" ball mount for RAM and similar phone mounts. It could also be drilled with the AMPS hole pattern. However, after using it on the highway and on the trail I have concluded that it works best when the bottom of the GPS is resting on the tray on top of the dash in order to totally eliminate vibration so some phone mounts would work better in that location than others. A concern I might have with recommending my mount for phones would be the greater weight of the typical smartphone. I don't know if it would matter but it might.

I have one too. It failed every usage except for holding my daughters pony tail things. Basically worthless
