Since moving to Wyoming I've quickly come to realize I'm going to need a professional camera. The sunsets and skies out here are among the prettiest I've ever seen.

In any case, this thread is dedicated to photos I've taken here in Wyoming. I think they're worth sharing due to how beautiful it is out here in God's country.

There and no filters or photo editing here whatsoever. Just my iPhone 13 Pro camera, that's it.

VERY nice pix! The "ultimate" camera right now is probably the Sony Alpha-9 III with the global shutter - it can be yours for about $6K! A "lesser" Sony would still be an excellent choice, they're really leading the pack right now in innovation and have an excellent stable of lenses available, both Sony and 3rd party (E-mount). I'm on the older A-mount.

Then there's Hasselblad...

More money I don’t need to spend. And yet I know with the right camera I could take some truly epic photos.

Take a look at MPB.COM - I just purchased (yet another) Sony with a very low shutter count for a very good price. I've bought a couple of lenses from them too. They even have Canon or Nikon if that's your favored poison.

But really, for the pictures you took, your iPhone did just fine.

Yes, the camera is surprisingly good. Still, I’ll check it out. A nice camera is something I’ve been wanting for a while.

If you posted elsewhere, I missed it. What brought about the move to Wyoming from Arizona? I recall that you were happy in Arizona, did that change?

Forget the camera you’re going to need some good winter clothes in in 4-5 months. Also if you don’t park your vehicles in a garage a engine block or oil pan heater is a necessity. I driven through Gillette several times a year migrating back and forth from SoCal to North Dakota. It’s beautiful country around those parts and the people are the salt of the earth types.

I echo the block heaters note. As I noted directly... I designed a couple expansions to the Hospital and one has a connected parking garage with 80amp outlets at each space on the ground and second floors for the staff's cars. Frost depth for foundations is 60" there!!

My Wife and I moved from SoCal. to MT. a few years after I retired. Best decision ever.
Today it reached 100* but, in a few months it will be 100* colder.
The wind from the North is going to be brutal on the Plains.
