Piss & Moan Table

I missed my connecting flight in DFW because of a weather delay. I made my way to the customer service counter right away. While in line I watched the agents being screamed at by angry customers. When it was finally my turn the first thing I said to the Agent was “Do you get treat this bad all the time and what do I need to do to get to myself and my party to our destination?”. While the others before me had to book flights for the next day my party of 4 were booked on the next flight out. It pays to be nice to people who can help you. I learned after that incident to fly out 2 days before a cruise and not just 1. When you fly a lot you learn that shit happens and you just need to deal with it calmly. Gate agents have a lot of power to help you if they want.

Changed the oil on my 89 YJ today. Only 1200 miles since the last but 2 yrs ago. I just installed a new fuel pump and wanted to make sure oil was new incase gas leaked from bad pump. Pulled a new WIX 51626 filter from my stock, pre-filled it and tried to screw it on. No Bueno. It will not screw on. Verified to old one and yep numbers match. Fuck! I pull out another from stock, dry fit and it screws right on. One wasted brand new filter and pre-filled oil.
Old filter on right bad new filter on left. Boxes are exactly the same and All numbers match. All US made.

People selling stuff on eBay are idiots. I'm trying to clean up my collection of photography gear. I've purchased two lens cases in the last couple of weeks, plus another one tonite. Why the hell won't people listing these things include the interior dimensions? How the hell am I supposed to figure out what will work with my lens? I don't care if the case was originally for a Bobble-Blook Super 5-50,000mm/F.00001 zoom lens, give me the damn measurements so I can see if it will work with MY lens!

Finally found one tonite that was for a good price from Adorama's eBay listing. No dimensions. I was actually able to look up the measurements on B&H's website who are selling the same thing only at 2.5X the price. It will work! So I went back and bought the Adorama listing, but not before I sent them a "It would be nice..." message. You'd think a ginormous photo retailer such as Adorama would think of these things!

Also bought 1 new rear lens cap and 2 body caps. I know I have the missing body caps here somewhere, but Goddess only knows where, so I paid a $12 "stupid tax" for a pair of new ones.

My little doggie got bit on the nose by a baby copper head last night. I killed the hell of the snake and stayed calm as we sorted out options for treatment. A friend of a friend had injectable antihistamines and steroids but he was going into shock while she ran home to grab them. I sat up with him on my lap until 2am monitoring his breathing and swelling. He’s nearly back to normal today but still a little swollen and grouchy.

This dog is practically my second child. Scared the shit out of me but I stayed calm, managed the situation and tried not to show emotion to keep him calm. Today, I’ve been totally exhausted.

Fucking snakes….if they are venomous, they die around here. Black snakes I keep around. They eat the venomous ones.

Both my dogs have been bit by copperheads, thankfully the were OK. Make sure you get him some preventative antibiotics and pain meds. Even a dry bite can hurt for a few days. Glad he’s OK!

Went to Napa today. Its been here since the 50s if not longer. Been going to this one since the 90s.

Counter guys were old AF and didn't use the computer. Doing engine swaps in weird cars, I would take them a bent up piece of welding wire in the shape of radiator hoses I needed and they would get me the hose. You could just go in looking for a specific part with just a basic description and maybe a pencil sketch, and they would find it without knowing if it was 2 or 4wd, or if it had power windows. These types of places are invaluable when building hotrods and weird custom stuff.

Well those days are gone. The family sold it to corporate Napa a couple years ago. The OG counter guys left at the same time.

And today I couldn't get two 1/2-20 lug nuts for my trailer because I didn't have an application that was in the computer.

😪

There was/is one near me when I lived in Commiefornia that was like that. Had been there since right after WW2, complete with machine shop right next door. There's a hardware store near me here in Florida that is the same deal - its been there since it was founded in 1880, and you don't even TRY to find stuff yourself! Stores like these are a treasure.

Thanks, really freaked me out. He’s back to his old self already. Swelling still slowly going down but he’s way better. I’ve been snake hunting. Found zero so far.

Good he’s on the upswing. Definitely get him the pain meds and an antibiotic. It’s a pretty painful puncture wound and you want to keep it clean. Took about a week for my dogs to fully recover. My 35lb beagle got a bite on the snout and my shepherd got bit on the paw.

Neither had any long term effects, and we now have dedicated snake shovel.

How do we know there isn't an exit ahead and they are taking it to get off the road and out of everyone's way?

Gonna suck when emergency vehicles need through.

Obviously you've never seen rush hour traffic where there is no shoulders and it's grid locked all lanes.. Emergency vehicles will get through trust me. As for your exit ahead theory.... Call the wambulance... law abiding drivers that stay in their lane until the exit end up being screwed over by the assholes shooting down the shoulder.

But 25 neighbors showed up and we cut up 3 trees, (2 mine, one neighbor), and piled them up by 9 pm. I'll need to cut them up smaller but not have to move one to the front. 200,000 without power.

My daughter was out meeting someone. She normally parks where that tree landed.

That guy is no less of an ass than the people driving over there.

The tree in back was our main shade tree. A 22 year old maple. The only tree I really wanted in the back yard. It snapped off 2 feet underground and I watched it fall and miss the house. Some small branches hit the windows and back door.

The base is about 2 ft in diameter and it was taller than the house. My AC bill will probably go up 30% without it's shade.
