Piss & Moan Table

Line fire is up to 26000 acres. New pic is about 45 degrees off first pic. Fire is about 10 miles away. Area in other pics from Father's day ceases to exist now. It will reach the Gender Reveal fire from 2020 and run out of fuel in the next few days. This was all a great Jeeping area before this. Very sad.

I have a detached garage with a massive tree next to it, tree is on neighbors property. They want to cut it down, I have a love hate with the tree so whatever.

They hire a local landscaping company. The dumb assholes start limbing approximately 3-4” diameter limbs from 15-20’ above my garage and just let them drop. One went through my roof. I call the company and they claim they will get quotes and have it fixed. They also claimed they would be working on the tree yesterday and haven’t seen them since. I saw they tried to sub it out to a real tree company but assuming they bid this at around $3,000 and a tree company would want around $8,000.

Moral of the story is I’m sure I’m going to be fixing this on my own dime even though I have photos of the branches on my roof and video of them cleaning it off.

File a claim against your neighbor’s insurance. Pictures and document everything including who you talked to. If they are a legitimate company they will have insurance and bonding. Has your neighbor said anything?

The company has insurance, I know who their insurance company is - though maybe not through proper channels.

I’m being nice allowing the company to try to fix it before I resort to escalation.

I talked to my neighbor. The reality is they aren’t at fault at all, they hired a company who did the damage.

While they aren’t at fault they are still liable. This is why you hire reputable contractors with proper insurance. Insurance is not cheap and that is one of the reasons reliable contractors cost more. If I was your neighbor I would do whatever was necessary to make you whole. I’ve had several trees removed over the years. When the tree cutters cut branches over a structure they tie a line to them and then lower them to the ground. It’s always a touchy situation when neighbors are involved.

So the fuel pump went out on my Briggs and Stratton inverter/generator due to letting it sit with gas in it too long. Simple replacement of a $20-30 part. Hop on Amazon and find many listed. Everyone comes up “Unable to ship to your address”. What the Fuck? I have several Amazon warehouses within 5 miles of me. Turns out Commyfornia does not allow them to be sold in the state. I hop on Ebay and for $27 they will ship it to me from Tx. Why the hell can’t I buy a fuel pump here???

And it has started here on the East Coast, hysteria. Just left Costco with people hoarding paper towels, TP and water, These items are produced here in the states, no cargo ships needed...lol

Forget about buying a car for the next couple years, dealers will use this to stick to everyone. Glad I own and don't lease.
