I woke up this morning and decided that I would like to go for a drive. After relaying that to hubby, he decided we would go up toward Marysville and Yuba county area. We ended up in Plumas National Forest. He was trying to find the road he and his Dad went down way back in the day where one could ride in the back of a old 56 Chevy with mattresses stacked so high that one could rest their feet on the top of the cab while sitting on them. Yes, that is what he did. LOL I guess his Dad and a friend would go up to this place and camp for a month, then go home. Anyway, didn't find that road. LOL

We ended up on Forest road 21N19. Here is the route, but my app kind of lost it's connection a few times. LOL The green line is where we went in and then we went to the right on Shady Lane (didn't have any signs saying it was Shady Lane though), down to the end where it went to the creek. On the way out where you see the dotted blue line that kind of passes over the trail instead of on it, is the way we ended up going back out. The blue lines that actually follow the road is the hi way.

Oh, forgot, we actually went down this trail first, but I forgot to turn on my tracker and we found a locked gate going forward the "peak" and the other direction did go back out to the road.

The 2 pics above are pics of the creek below.

We then found the 4x4 trail.

It had some pretty scary switch backs. Well scary for me as I don't really like to get go off camber. That is my only flaw with wheeling. LOL My hubby kept teasing me as I leaned way over toward the passenger side as I drove down some of the off camber corners. LOL

Made it to the bottom.

On the way out we came across this guy. Luckily I was just at the switch back and was able to back into it so he could get by.

After that we headed out and back up the hi way a bit. Went to the next town and after not seeing any gas stations, we decided to head back home. We did get high enough to see snow on the side of the road though. That was as much snow as I like. LOL

We think we found the road he used to go camping on back in the day, on our way back home. We plan to go back one day and go down it. It's road 20N35.
