Bored at work today...I'd like to see what you've done around your yards. We bought our property in 1981, and have been working on the yard ever since, with about six or seven major renovations over the years. I thought I'd start off with some photos of my last deck project. The three decks around my hot tub (you know where I spend a lot of time) had been there since I built them when I put in the Hot Springs tub, but the one on the left was the last one to get a roof over it... There's a little flat-screen TV in the wooden box on the right hand side of the deck...

The fencing around these has also changed, but that's another story...

With the new garage being built our entire yard has to be redone. I found this cool vintage fireplace and Dave has a ton of bricks and other stones to build a small patio to put 5he grill and use the fireplace outside .next to the house on the right . That will be a spring summer project seeing the ground is almost froze already here in the frozen tundra .

Wow... you guys have some amazing yards. I hope to have a yard like this eventually. I re-did my front yard by myself last year and it turned out great. I am officially "that guy" with the nicest grass on the entire street (all my neighbors are always asking how I keep it looking so good).

However, the backyard is a mess, and I intend to build a deck back there this Summer, put up a new fence, re-route the irrigation system, and put down new grass. First I need to have some dirt dumped back there and rent a Bobcat tractor to smooth it out. It's so uneven in the backyard and filled with all sorts of pot holes and such.

I think the dirt and the Bobcat is the best way to go about that, what do you guys think?

thanks funny thing about our backyard is due to the dogs tearing up the grass we put down a 25 x 25 piece of that cheap indoor/outdoor green carpet for the dogs to run on. it always looks good and one of our neighbors thought we were putting in a mini golf course

About 20 years ago my dad helped me modify a wooden storage container he got from work into a shed. It has had no upkeep the whole time and needed some help which I gave it this summer.

And the ramp up to the door now matches the stain on the deck but I took these pictures a little too early.

Also this picture shows the roof of my "barn". I have to admit that this is a replacement roof done through insurance but it definitely duplicates the roof I designed myself and installed with the help of my dad. Also in this picture is the 1995 Dodge Ram he bought new. Dad passed away 5 years ago but the Ram has 275,000 miles and is still going strong.
