Problem after heater core replacement

I did a heater core replacement today. I thought everything went pretty smooth until after I hooked the battery back up and noticed the dome lights were not going out. The previous owner had removed the door switches and installed a toggle for the lights on the drivers side. On the passenger side, he just disconnected the door switch harness. I double checked the wiring and everything looks good. I put the key into the ignition and it starts beeping and wont stop unless I start the engine. If I turn the key all the way back, the high beam light flashes. The dome lights stay on when the engine is running and stays on for about 5 minutes or more when the engine is turned off and key removed. I’m not sure if I need to keep digging into the door switches being the problem or if it could be a bigger issue since I had so much stuff disconnected to remove the dash.

An update on what I have tried so far: Double checked that the dimmer switch on the steering column was not just in the on position. Removed the covers around the steering column and made sure all harnesses were fully plugged back in. Tried bypassing the toggle switch wired in line with the door switch. Tried removing fuse #4, It changed nothing. I’m thinking since nothing changed when I removed Fuse #4, that should eliminate it being an issue with the door switches.

I fixed this a while back but realized I never did update this post. In case someone else ever has a similar issue.... It turned out that a positive wire going to the dome light switch that the PO had installed was getting pinched when I bolted the steering column back in. Once I found this and repaired the wire, everything went back to normal.
