Hey everyone! I finally got around to starting a post about my recent rebuild project for the wife. I'll add more as it goes along, but here's good start. I bought a 2001 TJ Sahara in September 2018, as pictured in the first photo. The frame was shot- rotted out at the transmission cross member/rear arches/ and the front right frame horn was broken in half. The tub had the usual dillema of rust at the rear corners, torque boxes and floor pans were completely rotted through, fenders had rot through the tops, hood was banged up, plus rot and rust everywhere. Just check out the before pictures, lol. I saw potential in it, so I couldn't just scrap the Jeep. I got a smoking deal on it so I snagged it up and began this project. Enjoy! I'll update as I post more.

TJ as I got it, before tear down

So, starting with teardown. You can see how unkind Western New York weather is to vehicles. The measuring tape is because I got a southern frame, but it was from a four cylinder, and I had to cut off and transplant my motor mounts from my 6 cylinder to that frame. Awesome job! Where in the world did you find a rust free tub for 400 bucks? Tell me your secrets! :)
I habitually cruise through Craigslist everyday. When I saw it, I couldn't pass it up! Also a no brainer seeing as it was only about an hour away from me. I got a good solid frame from southern PA for $400 too. I guess it's like they say on Gas Monkey Garage, even a diamond shines in a goat's ass once and a while. Lol.

I scan Craigslist and Facebook nearly daily as well... Still waiting on my 400 dollar frame and tub! The ones I have aren't bad, but for that price it's not worth me fixing them.

I was all ready to start cutting out the cancer on the body and frame, but once I saw those come up, I would have been nuts to pass it up. Money well spent!
