This might not seem like a big deal to everyone, but for my wife and I this was the culmination of month’s worth of stress and frustration. Seeing this nasty ass single wide heading down the road caused me to dance a jig spontaneously, today.

In its next resting place…which is OFF our property. Getting rid of one of these things it’ is ridiculously hard. Can’t burn it, can’t take it to the dump. Can’t even give them away, really, without opening up the wallet and paying a whole bunch of money.

What's the backstory? What was wrong with it? where did it go? blah, blaah.....

In my ex-part of Commiefornia, you could either have them towed to the dump or have a machine come and eat it into rubble to haul to the dump.

A guy nearby did just that when he saw the condition some renters left one of his double-wides in. He took one look at the place and lit it on fire. It burned for probably 15 minutes before the fire department got to it. Since he owned the place outright, all he had to do was pay a fine for burning without a permit. There was only a steel frame and concrete steps when I saw it a few days later. He probably got some scrapper to haul the frame off for free.

We looked into the fire thing. Part of the issue is we tried to do it “right” so we asked about a controlled burn, supervised by the FD. We’re very close to the airport, so that was an No go.

The thought of just burning it anyway was very tempting, but there were some ownership questions as well.

It’s a long story, goes back twenty years and deals with a bunch of family drama. All stuff I don’t want to type out.

My hair dresser is going to KILL me when she finds out that not only does she get to do another updo on me for this year's Witch's Ball, but that she also gets to weave sparklies into my hair... I'm dancing the part of an angel in an "Angels & Demons" dance/skit a group of us are doing for the event. I proposed that the Angels all have updos, our fearless leader liked the idea but added the sparklies and a tiara as well. I have the stuff for an updo of course, and I even have a cheap-ass tiara; but I had to go buy the sparklies to weave into the hair.

May pick up some more - as "more is more"!

Don't forget the glitter makeup!

Well; no hairdo, no makeup, no nails, wrong jewelry, and my Tiara had slipped - but a quick set of promo pix for our Witch's Ball performance have been done. This is the best one I think (Angels only):

The good news out of this is that Heather (Viewer's right) has sparkle silver eye shadow she's going to loan/give to me. I'll also have silver nails. We're wondering how many people are going to notice the silver/gold juxtaposition.

At work today when all of a sudden we heard a loud pop like a gunshot and then the power went out. We went outside to find someone had lost there happy 60th birthday balloons. A couple were mylar and arched the power lines, and one was on the ground on fire. The power was still out when I left for home, but this could have been worse with the one that landed on the ground and burned for servers minutes. If this had landed on someones roof or a field it could have spread into a large fire.
