You're most likely correct... I'd say the smoke this year is by far the most widespread across the northern half of the western states. There isn't much moisture in the air to help mitigate the smokes movement either.

I knew something was eating my Habenero plants.....This is Long Island, NY. All houses not a ton of woods nearby. I have been in my house since 1997 and this is twice this year that I saw them in the backyard.

It may be a buzzard. Some in the raptor class are considered buzzards. Not all. I can’t tell what it is.

the vultures are UGLY! lol. We have them circling our corrals. We know when one goes down. Haha.

Looks like an eagle or a hawk. Not a buzzard. Possibly golden eagle. Hard to tell the size by the picture.
