Finally did my re gearing bit, was aching for it all summer! As it’s not easy to find info on the 4cyl, I though I would share the info.

My dealer was suggesting 4.56 and so do the despicable tables everyone hates. So I went 4.88.

The car is a 2,4cc 4cyl, 6speed manual and sits on 33s and it runs PERFECT now!! I got to use my 6th gear on the arteries doing 50-60. I drive around town in 3d-4th and 1st gear is still very usable. No scorching no hard starts no nothing. It revs freely, feels as it should have felt with factory tire size, and despite the increased weight.

So if you are wondering which gear, for me, definitely 4.88!!

Process was very quick, my service man seemed to do it with his eyes closed. I think he was done with the front like in 30mins but then I had to leave, so no pics of the rear. As we all know, TPIWWOP, so here you go:

Pics from install, and pics of my ride, summer and winter mode. Yes I know, angrybirds grill can be frowned upon, but it suits my mood these days... so it stays.

Good decision on the 4.88 for your 33's. Fixed gearing tables are never correct unless they're understood and further manually-performed math is performed on them. The rpms fixed charts show are what you'd get in the non-overdrive 1:1 drive gear ratio. The rpms such charts show would be what you'd get while driving in 5th gear instead of 6th with your 6-speed transmission.

I probably would have went to 5.13 as well. My experience is that when in doubt, it never hurts to go deeper!

Still, glad you got it all done. I’m sure it’s much better to drive now!
