Neeseed to ask a,question. Dropped the rear end out of my 97 TJ today . The driver side upper suspension arm bracket that's on the axle housing looks bent. Should it look just like the one on the right side.

It is a combination bracket for the track bar too. They get bent or break off from the extra force applied by the track bar. Especially if you have a track bar extension bracket and no reinforcement.
The part that holds the upper arm should be a mirror of the passenger side as far as angles.

A straight edge off the backing plates and a tape measure should help.that and a big hammer. You can get beefer 1/4" steel versions too if you want to just cut it off. It doesn't look bad to me but its hard to tell from the pics
I ended up replacing mine but it was probably worse than yours. If you choose to replace I used the Barnes 4x4 mount. The Mount was nice but the directions are a bit wonky. They tell you to set the angle off of the back of the mount and use the same angle on both sides. The 92 degree angle they spec is perfect for right side but not left. Let me know if you go that way and I can send some pics of how I set mine up.
Will look at it close,I don't think it's broken anywhere. Probably just try to straighten it out. I don't really do any hard terrain.Just drive down the beach . I guess it was like that when I purchased it. May try welding a short gusset on the side. Thanks for the information .
