Everyone,
I had taken jeep to a shop and he had quoted me $750 for clutch kit change and I was not convinced as I found it fine.
So, I took my Jeep to transmission specialist who drove it and gave me honest opinion that there seem to be nothing wrong with transmission or clutch. He looked under the carriage and the vibration or grinding seem to be coming from rear pinion angle issue.
He recommended me to take it to some driveline 4x4 shop.
I went t that shop and they looked under it and told me that the angle of rear housing is not correct or something like that they said. Quoted me $3000 to replace complete rear housing.
Is there no cheap fix? I asked if they could not realign or screw some nuts but they refused. My knowledge is limited with this part and I have tried to read some thread and also a post by Chris but I am lost at options and not sure if I want to put $3000 on a 20 year old vehicle.
There is no lift and is stock suspension and has 30.9 inch tire I think.
What is the suggestions.

No worries. Your pinion angle is not going to be corrected by that bullshit shop replacing your housing. Forget those clowns. Awaiting you pics tomorrow.
It was a 4x4 specialist shop and I could see all kind of Jeep Wrangler there. Still biting myself.

I just went through some of your other threads and noticed you had vibes before but then solved them by replacing the rear u-joints. Post in thread 'Noise, shaking, and mild vibrations at speeds above 40 mph' https://wranglertjforum.com/threads...ions-at-speeds-above-40-mph.46080/post-793465
I'm now confused. Are the same vibes back, never left, or new vibes?
Correct, some of those were resolved for good by replacing bad u-joint in rear drive shaft. It drives fine under 35mph or when downhill in neutral 😂
This one might have been existing along with other noise so I was not able to differentiate.

Need photos of your rear driveline. $3000 for what exactly? Smells like bullshit.

Maybe it's just the angles the photos were taken from but your rear axle's pinion angle looks way too high and it looks angled to the side. I can see just one control arm that looks stock (non-adjustable). Are your upper control arms stock or are they adjustable? Did a previous owner install cam bolts onto the upper arms at their rear mounts? Are any of the four rear control arms bent?
