The 2006 hardtop I put on my 2003 sport has the complete wiper assembly that I have no intention of ever using. So, contemplating its removal, but without taking it out yet, has anyone done this? Curious as the size of the shaft and nozzle holes that will be left in the glass and what best to use to plug them. (Size, etc.)

I also have an '03 with a '99 top. I just got a couple of Stainless Steel nuts & bolts and 4 fender washers. And got an old inner tube from our local tire shop. I then cut 4 circles the same size as the washers and sandwiched the glass in between them. It hasn't leaked yet.

Great idea. I had thought about filling the holes with Flexseal, but yours is a simpler solution.

Ha, yesterday I was thinking that before my HT goes back on in November, I going to try and seal the holes with black RTV. Use some kind of tape on the outside and goop it on the inside, let it cure and remove the tape. I don't know if it will work, but I'll still have the nuts & bolts.
